The flash.ocx error is a big problem affecting many PC’s. It’s become an increasing menace in recent months as more and more people upgrade their systems and use broadband. Fortunately, there is a way to fix this problem which is extremely simple and effective. It’s all to do with Adobe Flash.
The problem with this error is all about the “Flash” component of your PC. Flash is a website development tool which is popular with web developers who want to be able to make their sites as animated and interactive as possible. However, it can often cause big problems with the files that need to run these demanding sites.
The “Flash.ocx” error is all caused by a single file that resides in the deepest core folders of Windows. This file is constantly being used by Flash to help it run the processes and files that it needs, and so if it cannot see the file it needs, then it will display this error. Whenever you see the Flash.ocx error, it’s most likely caused by erroneous files or from a missing file, causing Windows to display the error.
To fix the Flash OCX error, you can do two things:
- You can uninstall Flash player on your PC and then reinstall it. This will replace all the files that Flash needs to run (including Flash.ocx) and make your PC able to read them again. This is almost guaranteed to work and you can do it by clicking on START > CONTROL PANEL > ADD / REMOVE PROGRAMS > ADOBE FLASH PLAYER… and then heading to Adobe’s site to re-download the player. You can use a OCX repair program. There are several OCX repair tools that are on the Internet right now, which are being used to quickly remove any OCX issue that is on your system. These tools scan through all the damaged files inside your PC and then fix any of the.ocx errors that keep appearing. You can use these to remove the Flash.ocx error.
Either one of these methods works, but we’ve found that the 2nd method is much more user-friendly and effective. The OCX repair tools that you can get will also speed up your PC and fix any errors that are in there as well, making for a better system… so in that respect, it’s recommended that you choose method #2 to fix your PC. However, in both instances you need to be careful you do not delete any “healthy” files unexpectedly either.
