For all website builders out there, you may already know what JavaScript is and for those who are not computer savvy, JavaScript is a scripting program that is widely used by website builders to create a fully functional website. All those animations and effects you see on websites are all created through the use of Java Script.

However, it takes a lot of time and effort for a fully knowledgeable person to build a complete functional website. It involves a lot of scripting and encoding and along the way JavaScript errors will unexpectedly pop up. JavaScript is what binds everything together and is what makes up a website, literally speaking. Unexpected JavaScript errors can ruin what is supposed to be a good website and you will experience a series of frequent crashes while surfing the web.

Taking some simple steps will help stop JavaScript errors and allow you to peacefully surf the web.

1. Turning off JavaScript error alerts

Frequently having error alerts pop up while you are browsing the internet is very annoying and also harmful to your computer registry. Once the error alert pops up, your computer freezes or hangs or crashes.

If you are using Firefox as your internet browser, you can actually turn it off in three simple steps:

o Look for the Tools tab in the menu bar found at the topmost part of the page
o Click on Options and then click on the Content Tab
o You will see check boxes like Block pop-up windows, load images, etc. Look for the Enable JavaScript option and uncheck the box next to it.

For Internet explorer users, here are the steps to turn off the error messages:

o Select the Tools Tab in the menu bar
o Click on Internet Options then click on the Advanced Tab
o Look for the Display a Notification about Every Script Error option and uncheck the box next to it.

This will only disable the error messages but will still not get rid of the error itself.

2. Try changing your internet browser to avoid JavaScript errors

Different browsers have different responses to websites. Firefox for example detects more errors than Internet Explorer. Try switching between the two to see which is more compatible and which will yield more errors in terms of JavaScript.

3. Clean your registry

One of the main causes of sluggish performances, crashes and freezes and other errors is a faulty registry that is bloated with junk. It can also cause those JavaScript errors. Try using a registry cleaner to clean the junk and all the unnecessary files out of your computer registry.

Regular cleaning and scanning and also getting an antivirus will help you maintain a nice and clean error free computer.

Getting JavaScript error messages while surfing the web can be annoying because you experience freezes and crashes which cause disturbances to your peaceful web surfing. So why do we get errors in the first place? JavaScript is what makes up a website so when we get JavaScript errors it maybe a problem with the JavaScript codes in a certain web page.

So there are two types of JavaScript errors that you have to be familiar with:

o Syntax error- means there is a typo or perhaps a character missing in the code which is why the error occurred. This error appears while the page is loading

o Runtime error- this occurs when a specified object is not found or when the script is not able to complete the instructions. This error appears when the affected code is running.
The error message appears in the form of a small icon which you can click to further check the error message. So how do you fix the JavaScript error?

1. The problem maybe with your browser because different browsers also react differently with each website that you visit so try switching to a different internet browser.

2. If that does not work check if the Java installation is working by visiting the java website java.com to do the test. Look for the dancing duke. If you are able to see it then it is working fine.

3. If you did not see the dancing duke that means that the Java installation is not working. For Internet Explorer users, enable your Java by going to Tools, Internet Options, go to the Security tab, click Custom Level and look for the Scripting of Java applets, click enable and then click OK. For Firefox users, you can enable Java by also going to Tools, Options, the Content tab and then check Enable Java.

4. Getting the latest updated version may also solve the error messages.

5. Also try to clear the temporary files or delete the cookies. You can do this in Internet Explorer by going to Tools, Internet Options, on the General tab, you will see the Delete Files and Delete Cookies. For Firefox users, go to Tools and Clear Private Data.

6. The last solution would be to uninstall Java and then install it again.

So these are the steps that you can do to fix and take care of those errors. Actually the JavaScript errors are also helpful in some way that it shows you that something maybe also wrong with the website. Though sometimes annoying it can also be a little helpful in some way.
